The Journey

Meet Master Kim

Most people see Taekwondo as kicks, belts and competition. Master Kim sees it as a way of life — built on discipline, family and purpose.

Inside our studio, that discipline looks like care. Every child is guided. Every child is respected. Every child grows at their own pace.

"Discipline is choosing your life instead of letting it happen to you."

The Mission

The ONE Taekwondo Story

One family. One mission. One black belt at a time.

The ONE Taekwondo Story — the Kim family's photo timeline from Korea to today
  1. '10

    Korea

Two college kids training hard at Kyung-Hee University. Young (Master Yang, Mom) believed in Hoon (Master Kim, Dad) and in the dream that Taekwondo could be more than a sport. It could change lives.

  2. '12

    Boston

We left Korea with one suitcase, two dreams, and no Plan B. Teaching and learning as newlywed Masters in a new country. Then Roy was born.

  3. '14

    Georgia

We didn't know many people or have much money — but we had faith, and we had each other. On March 24, 2014, The ONE Taekwondo opened its doors. Two months later, Liv arrived.

    Growing

Leo came next, then our second location, and then Ray. The school was growing and so was our family — maybe too fast. We were together all the time, yet drifting.

    The Turning Point

The world stopped, and for the first time in years, so did we. Camping. Fishing. Laughing. Praying. That season of stillness became our foundation. We remembered who we were and why we started.

  6. Today

    The Kim Family

Roy began training as a competitor, with Dad as his coach, and his brothers followed. Now we train and travel together as a family with a mission — and that's what we want for every family who walks through our doors.

The Foundation

The Kim Family

Our children grew up on the mat. They learned discipline not because we taught it, but because they lived it alongside us every day. We're not a perfect family — we struggle, we fail, we get back up. That's the example we bring to every class.

"Taekwondo is more than kicks and belts. It's discipline. It's confidence. It's healing. It's family. That's our story and we're still writing it."
